Discover the remarkable stories of the men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars who are buried in their community. Over a hundred and fifty casualties from World War One and World War Two are buried at Hartshill, many of whom died whilst being treated for their injuries at the nearby Stoke War Hospital. Amongst the many graves are two brothers from New Zealand who both served and died in the RAF, two members of the African Pioneer Corps buried thousands of miles from home and one member of the Cyprus Regiment. We also commemorate two women who served in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force.
